The full story of Cash and Lilahs rescue.

When the intial report came into DogLost of the missing dogs our area co-ordinator Jan leapt into action …sending out instruction sheets and making contact with owner to advise. Jan then shared the missing dogs details on local FB pages and made contact with a local man called Scott Pilling.  Scott volunteered to go up and have a look…in his words…

On looking for the dogs my Iphones camera zoomed right in…and there they were.

Next picture below…I wanted to take a look at the cornice and make sure the dogs were mobile! Look at them!

Heres me going over the edge! I was on my own and dont know who these other people were …but  I roped them into helping as needed support…( because on trying to ring rescue teams…guess what no signal up there!)

And this is dog number 2 brought up after other dog was rescued…a very strong dog! Had to pin it! Lol…

And here is the two of them safely back on terra firma.

Thank you for all the warm comments! I’m truly blown away by the love I have had since doing this.
Every single one of you and lots others are too kind! Remember it was, in the end, a team effort and I couldn’t have got the dogs on my own.
Every one of the strangers played their part in this rescue.
I know I might have done all the rest and i’m glad I did.
Its great to see Cash and Lilah back home where they should be.
Big hugs to you all x

    Scott x

How lucky those 2 were that you were able to help, along with the others that you managed to rope in to help.

I personally would like to give a guy who I now know called Nigel who massively helped me do this rescue.
He was on the end of the rope and helped chase the dogs out so we could all get a hold of them.
      Good man…
There was others helping and so it’s why I reiterate that is was a team effort.
I know the papers have made it all about me which isn’t fully true.
Yes I went to find the dogs, drove the distance from my home two hours away and searched.
Until I was on the top and the cornice was too unstable to attempt on my own.
That’s where these lovely guys helped me out and did a great job!
Just worth mentioning it wasn’t just me who got the dogs to safety that’s all x

Nigel is a top guy. Alpine expert. It’s no surprise to me that he led this rescue from the front. Well done Nige 🤗

Hi Scott,I’ve followed this story for a couple of days now,and as a dog lover am over the moon about your rescue! Well done to you and your team! You deserve every pat on the back and free beer you get!!
I’m a little confused though about about who was on the end of the rope when the dogs were rescued,in your first couple of posts and interviews It sounded like you had,and in the last couple you have mentioned a guy called Nigel.I’m a keen climber myself and going by the photos I’ve seen you or Nigel were in a hell of a precarious position down there over the edge so hats off to both of you,but just so I know if I ever bump into you in a pub, which of you was the guy on the rough end of the rope,,??
