Introducing the new area Volunteer for Berkshire

am delighted to introduce Jen Smith as an area volunteer for the Berkshireshire area

Jen describes herself as having been nuts about animals her whole life!  She has been involved in wildlife rescue for decades, including grovelling in the undergrowth on occasions to catch evidence on film of illegal activities! She describes her best job in the world was running a swan rescue centre for a couple of years but then she had to return to what she calls a “proper” job to pay the bills!  Jen worked at Broadmoor high secure hospital until she retired.

Jen loves wildlife/bird watching, gardening and has just started art classes. She has a rescued staffie called Steffi, 3 cats and anyone else needing help who turns up on the doorstep. And of course she also spends a lot of time searching for lost doggies.

You will see Jen on our main website doglost.co.uk posting as Jen Smith and she now has a green badge! A green badge member of our site indicates someone committed to helping lost & stolen dogs, who follows Doglost.co.uk procedures and protocol as well as having access to Doglost resources & contacts as required and also working to ensure the database, our main site is kept up to date!

Doglost is run by volunteers & they are essential to be able to provide effective, timely and proven advice and support to owners. Volunteers are given support and guidance and there are many different ways that people can help if they wish!
