17 year old boy saves drowning dog…

17-year-old Connor Telford from Dundee had only been in Wales a few hours when the drama happened.

A teenage tourist from Scotland turned hero within hours of arriving in Swansea for a holiday.

Connor Telford from Dundee had gone to visit to Penllergare Valley Woods yesterday afternoon when a dog that had gone into the lake to chase some ducks began getting into difficulty.

Seeing that the seven-year-old Shih-Tzu named Charlie had got caught up in the thick reeds and was being pulled under the 17-year-old kicked off his trainers and darted in to save him.R

“It was only the second time I’d taken Charlie to Penllergare Valley Woods, and the first time round he’d shown no interest in the ducks whatsoever,” said the dog’s owner Jane Warner, from Glais.

“But on this occasion he jumped in the lake to paddle after them, but I knew he had no chance of catching any – those birds were giving him the proper run around.”
