Volunteer of the week award goes to….

KatieF-area volunteer Somerset! Pictured above with ecstatic owners after 8 days of searching…. Well done Katie for searching during all the fireworks this week and getting a result!

In Katies own words on Ludo’s Doglost timeline…

Update. Ludo is home❤️🐾
I walked the Home fields squeaking my toy and calling – visiting the whole area.
Lexie, his owner appeared 20 mins in to bring a bed to the hedgeline. We were chatting and wandering back towards her car. Just chatting. She was asking me about other cases and I was being rather straight with her on recovery, closure and theft. She asked me ‘katie it’s been a week when do you stop looking ?’- I said ‘well when I feel it’s too late or we have nothing to go on’
I reassured her I’d be searching on a while yet as these little dogs are robust and I’d convinced myself he wasn’t far.
I was right. The commotion of calling squeaking and Mums tones of chatting. He just cantered up the field towards us😵❤️🐾🐾
We were on the cottage paddock boundary right up the top. He just wanted his mum.
I scooped him up and kissed him and passed him to Lexie who was in tears of joy. He was crying for her and overwhelmed.
Apart from a raw and bloody tip of tail and a few scratches and bumps he was in good shape – just overwhelmed to of found us.
Bless his cotton socks. Such a soldier.
Where do these little dogs slope off to and why do they take soo long to reappear. ?sking me about other cases and I was being rather straight with her on recovery, closure and theft. Hey. I’m on a roll. Was chuffed to bits and a bit spooked that he came running up whilst I was there. Me and my squeaker. That’s my third small dog that’s responded. Might be fluke but I’ll keep it in my pocket 😜😜
