Traumatised dogs left tied to vehicle to await collection following deadly crash
These two dogs were left traumatised after surviving a horrific car accident that killed their sibling.
The pair were pictured waiting in the cold for someone to come and get them after their owners were brought to hospital following the crash. The collision happened along the A61 near the small area of Dannstadt in Germany’s Rheinland-Pfalz region. The three dogs were travelling with their owners, a man and a woman, but were not restricted in the Suzuki vehicle.
For unexplained reasons, it crashed and then rotated several times before coming to rest on its roof in a nearby country road. The accident ended in the death of a smaller dog while the male driver and his female passenger were raced to hospital. The surviving dogs were left tied to the side of the vehicle until relatives could be found to come and collect them.
An eyewitness told local media: ‘I looked inside the car and I didn’t see any transport box and as far as I can see there weren’t secured inside with a lead either.’ It was not disclosed how long the dogs had to remain in the freezing cold until relatives of the injured couple turned up to collect them. The names and ages of the injured were also not revealed, and police are studying the cause of the crash.
