As they approached the junction with Grovelands Road on a morning walk, two strangers got out of a white Mercedes CLA Sport and the driver produced a knife.

Threatening the owner with the weapon, they stole the bulldog puppy and raced off in the car.

The victim, who is in his 30s, chased on foot but the Mercedes sped away and the suspects were last seen on the A20 at Fiveways.

The driver of the car is described as black, aged about 20, with his hair in corn rows and a scar on his right cheek. He was wearing a white or cream jacket with black patches and a red outline.

The passenger was also black, aged about 20 with short hair. He was wearing a navy blue jacket with the same patches as the driver.

Met Police now believe the car was last seen in the Canning Town and Stratford area.

There are yet to be any arrests.

Anyone who witnessed the robbery, recognises the suspect’s description or has any information is urged to call the police on 101, quoting reference CAD 1632/03MAR.
