DogLost volunteer of the month goes to…

Anthony Bailey…Although only with us for a short time he has proved invaluable…Nominated by Welsh Co-ordinator Jill Trick and a testement from Canela’s owner Mrs Evans is below….

I would like to propose Anthony Bailey for Dog Lost volunteer of the month.

I’m so grateful to Jill Trick for putting me in contact with this incredibly kind human being.
From the time we met him, Anthony has been there for us. He’s answered the phone to us day or night and throughout the Christmas period.
I did say that I would leave him be for Christmas Eve, Day and Boxing Day but he wouldn’t hear of it.
His words were ‘I’m here until the dog is home.’
He has met us and driven vast areas searching for her and putting up posters, talking to locals and businesses alike to spread the news of our loss.
He particularly shone on the day we searched for her expecting to find her body (after being hit by a car and receiving no sightings). He helped coordinate 30 people on the ground search of a large wooded area. He made sure everyone stayed safe and didn’t leave the area until he knew everyone was finished and safe.
I feel that I have made a life long friend and I’ve missed him in the last 2 weeks we have had the dog home.
He’s a kind, thoughtful, gentle person who is there for you no matter what. Dog Lost are very lucky to have him on the team.
He helped my husband and I get through one of the most difficult experiences of our life.
That is why he should be volunteer of the year actually.
