Desperate plea for help to trace dog missing near Arrochar
(From the Helensburgh Advertiser)
A DESPERATE dog owner is pleading for help finding her missing pet after he disappeared during a hill walk in Arrochar.
Natalie Crawford lost three-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier cross Gizmo last Thursday, June 17 while climbing Beinn Ime, the highest mountain in the Arrochar Alps.
The Paisley woman has been out searching every day since and has been assisted by friends and family, along with the Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team, but has not yet found any trace of her beloved pooch.
Natalie said: “We were five minutes from the summit and very thick cloud came in within seconds.
“It took me about 30 seconds to get to where he last was and when I got there he had vanished, gone.
“I just need him home.
“I had been fostering him after my last dog passed away, and I’ve had him for about two years after adopting him.
“I can’t lose him so soon after losing my last dog.”
Gizmo, described as a white and red adult male, went missing at around 10am last Thursday.
Natalie is appealing for expert help to check any caves and crevices around the area Gizmo went missing.
